Beveridge
House St Andrews is privately owned and is run by its owner.
It is located at the east end of North Street within the town centre
in an area once known as the Ladyhead. In days gone by this part
of St. Andrews was where fishermen and their families lived and
repaired their nets as it is close to the Harbour.
The house has been a domestic dwelling for many years, dating back
to the 1600s. In 1960 the property was completely renovated and
extended to the rear. The frontage was preserved as original and
hence looks small from the outside like most of the little houses
in the East Neuk of Fife.
The Cathedral and Castle are some 60m in opposite directions and
directly across the street is the Preservation Trust Museum. The
old university buildings , residences and main shopping centre/restaurants
etc. are only a five minute walk from the house. St Andrews in re-knowned
for its golf and all five golf courses and facilities are fifteen
minutes walk and the Castle Beach is two minutes away.
St Andrews has so many different activities and attractions to suit
all, and with Beveridge House being situated in such a central
location makes it the ideal base for holidays in St Andrews.
